I need to have a certain level of fitness to participate?

Am I too old ?
Never! Studio Verve is extremely proud of its diverse clientele with ages ranging from fifteen years right through to seventy years of age. With a healthy attitude, we believe anything is achievable. Whether you’re bored of the usual gym routine, looking to lose that post baby fat, unwind from work or studies, tone up, lose fat, socialise, or simply looking to try something new, PoleFit® courses are helping women of all ages, sizes and ability levels feel great and look good.
What
does a typical class involve?
A one hour PoleFit® session includes a thorough warm up, core conditioning and cool down however the main class component involves learning different “pole skills” which are later linked and developed into a mini combination or routine. “Pole skills” learnt depend on the level undertaken and vary from learning how to spin, climb or hang. To ensure muscular strength and balance are achieved and maintained, pole skills are practiced using both sides of the body. Courses are conducted with an emphasis on technique, safe practice and with the desire to educate students on correct muscle use.
How do students advance from one level to the next?
Our progressive courses allow students to commence at an introductory level (level 1) and work towards reaching new heights in the more advanced levels (level 10). There are no exams at the end of an eight week program however students are guided individually by their instructor and given goals to strive towards. On completion of a program, students have the choice to progress to the next level or undertake the same program should they wish to perfect technique and further develop strength.
What
should I wear?
PoleFit® courses have been designed with the intention of increasing one’s fitness levels and working every part of your body (including feet!) With this in mind socks are the recommended footwear. Tights or leggings are suitable for level one however for the higher levels you will benefit most by having bare arms and legs to grip the pole with; shorts and a tank top are fine. PLEASE do not wear/apply to your body (including hands) any oils or creams on the day you will be attending a pole class as this will affect your grip on the pole. This is not only for your safety but for those students in following classes.
