Frequently Asked Questions
Why
is PoleFit® so good for fitness?
PoleFit® offers a complete
workout, for the body and mind. Movement
on and around the pole engages muscles in the back,
shoulders, arms and abdominals - you'll discover
muscles you never even knew you had! The
benefits are improved muscle strength and tone.
A PoleFit® session will also elevate your heart
rate, giving you a cardiovascular workout which
burns calories
and helps maintain a healthy heart. Your
self confidence will soar as you experience
a sense of accomplishment and express yourself through
some of the more sensual pole tricks and dance moves.
Do
I need to be coordinated or have previous dance experience?
Not at all! Our
classes are structured so that everyone feels comfortable
and at ease. Our friendly and experienced instructors
provide tuition within a fun, caring and relaxed atmosphere.
You'll be able to move around the pole and perform
tricks after the first class! This is a form of fitness
which should be approached with a tongue in cheek
attitude and an open mind. Ultimately we want you
to have fun and feel good about yourself whilst getting
in shape.
Do
I need to have a certain level of fitness to participate?
PoleFit® is
helping women look good and feel great. It's open
to women of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels.
We've found that everyone who has taken on pole dancing for fitness has gained from the experience - you'll
not only improve your level of fitness, you'll also
increase your strength as you progress through the
course.
Will
I find it embarrassing?
You may feel a little
nervous at first but you need to keep in mind that
everyone is in the same boat. All our instructors
are approachable and friendly and you'll have no problem
feeling at ease. We find that during class students
quickly let go of their inhibitions and give into
the fun!
What
should I wear?
The most important
thing is to wear clothing that is non restrictive
and that you feel comfortable in. However, you'll
benefit most out of your class with bare arms and
legs. We would recommend a pair of shorts (better
to grip the pole with!), singlet and runners. We ask
that you do not wear any oils or creams prior to your
class as this will impede your grip on the pole.
